On This Date: The “My Bloody Valentine” Remake Opened in Theaters (01/16/2009)

Let's all go to the lobby . . . or at least the "Horrorwood Drive-In" Concession Stand, conveniently staffed by the friendly Harry Warden (the pickaxe-wielding murderer from the "My Bloody Valentine" films).“Horrorwood Drive-In” Scarezone, Universal Studios Florida, 2009.

On this date in 2009, the remake of the cult classic film, “My Bloody Valentine” was released in US theaters.

Later that year, “My Bloody Valentine” and its antagonist, Harry Warden, made two separate appearances at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights: in the “Horrorwood Drive-In” scarezone (seen above) and a room in the movie-themed “Silver Screams” house.  The film also inspired a standalone house at Universal Studios Hollywood: “My Bloody Valentine: Be Mine 4 Ever.”
