HHNH 2013: Murdy’s Closing Tidbits and The 2014 “Short List”

Entrance Signage, Universal Studios Hollywood, 2013.

John Murdy, Universal Studios Hollywood’s HHN Creative Director, tweets frequently.  Prior to the conclusion of HHN 2013, he tweeted the following messages, including a few little insights into what 2014 may hold.

On Closing Night:

  • “1st HHN Closing Night tradition, tell the Terror Tram cast a real ghost story…the tragic tale about what happened here…March 15th 1915..”
  • “Good night HHN 2013…its been fun.”

On 2014:

  • Back to doing research on potential properties for HHN 2014. We won’t be doing a formal survey so the suggestion “tweet” box is open…
  • Finishing up our list of potential properties for HHN 2014. Locking that list today, then we’ll determine which ones make the “short list.”  The next step in the process is to start meeting with people to determine which properties are in the running for 2014 and which are not…
  • Right now the list is long, new & old movies, games, genre music artists & personalities, TV shows, etc. Who will make the “short list?”  All of that will be determined in the weeks ahead, the “wheelin’ and dealin'” part of the process. Time to put the producer hat back on!
  • Just to give ya something to “chew on,” here’s a little insight into what’s on the potential list for HHN 2014 at USH…32 items total: 10 are 2014 films, 4 TV shows, 8 “older” films, 4 video games, 3 music artists, 3 genre “personalities”…what will make the “short list?”
  • Yeah I know its November & we haven’t even finished striking HHN 2013 but the never ending cycle of horror goes on! #HorrorNeverSleeps.

And a bit of HHN 2013 info:

  • Just got some final data in on HHN 2013, set some new records. 2013 was the highest attended and guest rated HHN in the history of USH!  Record ratings for event.  Insidious was the highest guest rated maze in the history of HHN, Terror Tram also had record guest ratings! Kudos to our cast! Nice job!
  • Now its time to get out of town, cleanse the mental pallet, put 2013 HHN in the record books & prepare for HHN 2014! #HorrorNeverSleeps
