HHN 21: Pull At Your Own Risk

“Penn & Teller New(kd) Vegas 3D,” Universal Studios Florida, 2012

In recent years, Halloween Horror Nights has begun using devices called GATs, or Guest Activated Triggers. These devices, typically disguised as unassuming props, activate an effect (a compressed air blast, a strobe light, a sound effect, etc. etc) at another location within the house. GATs add interactivity to the experience and actually allow guests to participate in the scaring of other guests.

In 2012’s “Penn & Teller New(kd) Vegas 3D” house, this velvet robe activated a compressed air blast further ahead.
